We are a CNC machining company from China. The parts and services we provide include: automotive parts manufacturing; drone parts manufacturing; medical equipment parts; robot parts; automation equipment parts; injection molds; sheet metal parts, etc.
Galvanizing; nickel plating; chrome plating are often used in our CNC turning services and CNC milling services.
Here is a share: "The difference between galvanizing; nickel plating; chrome plating" for everyone:

Electroplating is a process that uses the principle of electrolysis to cover a thin film of other metals or alloys on the surface of a specific metal. The purpose of this process is to coat metals or other materials with a metal coat through electrolysis, thereby effectively resisting metal oxidation, improving wear resistance, conductivity, reflection and corrosion resistance, and also adding a bit of beauty to the product.

1. Galvanizing

Definition: A surface treatment technology that covers the surface of metals, alloys, etc. with a zinc layer to enhance the appearance and anti-rust effect.
Features: Low cost, general anti-corrosion performance.
Function: Galvanizing is mainly for beauty and anti-rust, but because it is an active metal, its corrosion resistance is relatively weak.
Color: Silvery white (also available in color)
Cost: Cheap
Disadvantages: Poor wear resistance, not suitable for friction parts.
2. Nickel plating

Definition: The process of coating a metal or non-metal surface with a nickel layer by electrolysis or chemical means.
Features: High light reflectivity and can increase beauty, suitable for decoration, high cost, slightly complicated process.
Function: Nickel plating focuses on wear resistance, corrosion resistance and rust prevention. Usually the coating is thin and can be achieved by electroplating or chemical methods.
Color: Silvery white with a yellowish tint
Cost: Medium
Disadvantages: Porous
3. Chrome plating

Definition: A process of coating a layer of chrome on a metal or other material using electrolytic or chemical methods.
Features: There are two types of chrome plating, one is decorative, with a bright and wear-resistant appearance; the other is designed to improve the hardness and wear resistance of metal parts. "Chromium" has high heat resistance, does not change color below 480°C, begins to oxidize above 500°C, and the hardness drops significantly at 700°C.
Function: Chrome plating mainly improves surface hardness and has excellent aesthetics and rust resistance. The coating remains stable in a variety of environments, and because it does not change color, it can maintain its reflective ability for a long time.
Color: Bright white with a slight blue
Cost: High
Disadvantages: Chrome is hard, brittle, and easy to fall off.
